![]() ![]() It feels fresh, very intense and isn't too shy to really challenge the players. I liked Eternal far more though, because it didn't try to be a bad old school shooter but actually balance the gameplay and put their own spin on it. I don't care for the glory kills, but I want the gore to stay! I want to look back after a fight and see the aftermath of that mayhem! But in the new games everything disappears after like a second. That game didn't had any of the clever and nonlinear map design from the classics (except Foundry, that map was perfect) and the gore didn't reach the levels of the brutal mods. The brutal mods were part of the reason why I didn't like Doom2016 very much. But it certainly is always a crazy wild ride. Imo it also plays best with the dynamic progression system so I only play it with a full 32 map wad. I play BD and vanilla way more frequently than PB because it just adds a little much. The classics, balls-to-the-wall demon slaughtering action. Please note that the Networks below are not operated by /r/Doom mods. Here are some networks and channels to get you started.
